The materials we use at Mirror Zoo are the cornerstone of our brand’s commitment to sustainability. We take pride in transforming a variety of recycled and upcycled materials into stunning, functional bags that reflect our dedication to eco-friendly design.
Our journey started with an epiphany in a friend’s bakery, where we noticed the intricate designs on flour sacks. Instead of letting these sacks end up in landfills, we envisioned a way to give them a second life through creativity. What started with upcycling flour sacks into stylish, durable bags, soon expanded to other materials, including denim, burlap coffee sacks, billboards, and even fertilizer sacks.
Billboard - Upcycled
Billboard fabric is not your ordinary fabric. It’s tough, weatherproof, and has a waxy texture that makes it easy to clean. These qualities make upcycled billboard bags exceptionally durable and suitable for outdoor use, whether as bike bags, gym bags, or everyday totes. Each bag is inherently unique, featuring original patterns, colors, and designs from the billboard, ensuring that no two items are ever the same.
Flour Sacks - Upcycled
Rescued from bakeries and given a second life, our upcycled flour sacks are transformed into waterproof, durable bags. Each bag carries a unique pattern, making it a one-of-a-kind statement piece that's perfect for your daily adventures.
Coffee Sacks - Upcycled
Once used to transport coffee beans, our upcycled burlap sacks are transformed into durable, eco-friendly bags. Their natural texture and resilience make each item unique, offering a rustic yet stylish touch to your sustainable lifestyle. Each burlap sack undergoes a meticulous process of cleaning, cutting, and crafting to transform them into beautiful, upcycled bags.
Fertilizer Sacks - Upcycled
These sacks are cleaned, cut, and crafted into functional products such as tote bags, backpacks, messenger bags, and fanny packs. With their sturdy, water-resistant properties, they provide a perfect balance of sustainability and style. By upcycling fertilizer sacks, we prevent them from ending up in landfills and support a circular economy, turning what would be waste into valuable, long-lasting accessories. Each bag is not only a reflection of sustainability but also a unique piece of craftsmanship, demonstrating how discarded materials can be reimagined into fashionable, everyday items.
Denim Jeans - Upcycled
Our upcycled denim bags and accessories are crafted from old jeans, giving them a new life with a touch of creativity. By cutting, sewing, and combining denim with other elements, we can create a variety of items. Durable and versatile, each piece reflects a commitment to sustainability, turning discarded denim into a functional, stylish statement.
Plastic Bottles(RPET) - Recycled
RPET fabric is a new type of recycled eco-friendly material. Its yarn is made from recycled PET bottles. Is RPET fabric eco-friendly? Regular polyester fabric yarn is extracted from petroleum, while RPET fabric yarnis made from discarded PET plastic bottles. Replacing the production of such recycled yarn helps reduce the use of petroleum, helps save energy and reduces the impact on the environment.
